선교 운영 지침

 

 

Safe navigation is the most fundamental attribute of good seamanship.

안전한 항해는 좋은 선원정신의 가장 기본적인 속성이다.

 

An increasingly sophisticated range of navigational aids can today complement the basic skills of navigating officers, which have accumulated over the centuries.

점차 정교해지는 항해 장비들의 범위는 수세기 동안 발전되어온 항해사관들의 기본기술을 보완할 수 있다.

 

But sophistication brings its own dangers and a need for precautionary measures against undue reliance on technology.

그러나 정교함은 그 자체의 위험들과 기술의 지나친 의존에 대비하여 예방조치의 필요를 가져온다.  

 

Experience shows that properly formulated bridge procedures and the development of bridge teamwork are critical to maintaining a safe navigational watch.

적절히 공식화된 선교운영절차와 선교 팀워크의 개발이 안전항해당직을 유지하는데 필수적임을 경험이 보여준다.

 

Seafaring will never be without its dangers but the maintenance of a safe navigational watch at all times and the careful preparation of passage plans are the heart of good operating practice.

해상생활은 그 자체의 위험들 없이 존재할 수 없을것이다. 하지만 항상 안전항해당직의 유지와 항해계획의 조심스런 준비는 좋은 운항업무의 핵심이다.  

 

It is people that control ships.

선박을 통제하는 것은 사람이다.

 

and it is therefore people management and team work which are the key to reliable performance.

그러므로 안정적인 업무수행의 핵심은 사람관리와 팀워크이다.

 

People entrusted with the control of ships must be competent to carry out their duties.

선박 통제의 직무를 가진 사람은 그들의 업무를 수행할 능력이 있어야 한다.

People also make mistakes and so it is necessary to ensure that monitoring and checking to prevent chains of error from developing. (문법적으로 맞는지 모르겠음)

사람은 역시 실수를 하고 그래서 발전하는 실수의 체인들을 막기 위해 감시와 확인이 필요하다.

 

Mistakes cannot be predicted, and once a mistake has been detected, it is human nature to seek to fit circumstances to the original premise, thus compounding a simple error of judgment.

실수들은 예견되어질 수 없고, 일단 실수가 탐지되면, 상황을 원래 전제로 맞추는 것을 추구하고, 그래서 단순한 판단의 오류를 합성하는 것이 인간의 본성이다.  

 

Bridge notes should be provided to explain limitations of any equipment that has been badly sited, pointing out the appropriate remedies that need to be taken.

잘 못 배치되어 있는 어떤 장비의 제한이나, 취해야만 할 적절한 해결책을 지적하는 것을 설명하기 위해 선교 노트가 제공되어야 한다.
